CHAPTER 7
We close this work with a review of the evolutionary history of the tomato. Starting from the origin of humanity, we analyse the historical milestones that have marked the tomato’s journey and the influence that humanity has played upon it. We end with a chronological timeline showing the most decisive moments in the long evolution of the tomato: from the wild tomato to the cultivated tomato we consume today.
