It is clear that people behave differently in their private and professional lives. However, such aspects are two sides of the same coin. It is inevitable that our inner personality comes to the fore and is responsible for our behaviour in carrying out our professional duties. To better understand what it means to be a wine taster we must consider human acts; that is, instincts, abilities, attitudes, emotions and feelings, values, experience, character and temperament, knowledge, learning, philosophy and customs. In everyday language they might be considered synonymous, but in truth they are very different and all contribute more than we could imagine to the way in which wine tasting professionals approach the wine they are going to examine.
